If the RCD trips
Switch off all the breakers in the consumer unit, reset the RCD and switch the breakers back on one by one: the one that trips it is the faulty circuit. Unplug whatever is on it.
If you smell burning
Switch off the main switch in the consumer unit, don't touch hot sockets or cables, and call us.
If only your home has lost power
Check whether any switch in the consumer unit is down. If everything is up and your neighbours have power, it may be the supply line or the meter: call us.
If there is water nearby
If there is a leak or flooding near sockets or the consumer unit, don't touch them with wet hands, and only switch off the main switch if you can do so without standing in water.
